TODAY I AM LATE FOR MY ROBOTICS LESSON BECAUSE I THOUGHT
THAT IT WAS SUPPOSED TO STARTED AT 8.30 BUT IT WAS ACTUALLY AT 8.00 . MRS TAN
TOLD ME TO REMEMBER THE TIME AND NOT TO BE LATE THE NEXT TIME .OUR INSTRUCTOR
,MR CHANG, IS VERY KIND . I LIKE HIM TO BE MY INSTRUCTOR.I HAD LEARNT SOME BASIC
SKILLS ON THE COMPUTER WHICH I HAD FORGOTTEN AFTER MY VERY LAST COMPUTER LESSON.

TODAY I HAPPENED TO COME TO SCHOOL VERY EARLY IN THE
MORNING. I MET MY TEAMMATES ,CHANDINI AND HUI YING . SHAM ,OUR CONSTRUCTOR IS
ALWAYS LATE FOR ROBOTICS LESSON . MRS TAN SAID THAT WE NEED TO COME UP WITH
OUR OWN TEAM NAME, MOTTO, SONG, CHEER AND MASCOT. i WENT TO THE INTERNET WITH
HUI YING TO DO SOME ON " FOREST FIRE" AND " OIL SPILL" SHAM
WENT ON TO " WWW.ANIMATIONFACTORY. COM." FOR FREE CLIPART. SHAM CLICKED
ON AN ICON NAMED " SEXY ANIMATIONS". THEN, SOME VERY SEXY ANIMATION
POPPED UP. AFTHER THAT, WE PRINTED SOME RESEARCH BUT WE DID NOT PRINT THE REST.
MRS TAN SCOLDED US AND WE DECIDED TO PRINT IT AT HOME.

TODAY I WOKE UP VERY EARLY BECAUSE I NEED TO CONTINUE
MY ROBOTICS LESSON . I HAVE LEARNT A LOT OF THINGS LIKE ANCHOR LINKS , HOTSPOT,
INSERT PICTURE , MAKE ROLLOVER IMAGES AND PUBLISH WEB PAGES ON THE WORLD WIDE
WEB . AFTER ALL THOSE THINGS HAD HAPPENED, MRS TAN ASKED MY TEAM TO DECIDE WHO
WILL BE THE JOURNAL WRITER AND THE PROGRAMMER. HUI YING IS THE BEST IN PROGRAMMING
SO WE CHOSEN HER AS OUR PROGRAMMER AS FOR CHANDINI, SHE VOLUNTEERED TO BE THE
JOURNAL WRITER BECAUSE SHE CANNOT PROGRAM A ROBOT.

TODAY I WOKE UP EARLY IN THE MORNING FOR ROBOTICS LESSON.
I STARTED DOING MY WEB PAGE DESIGN. I RECORDED HUI YING'S VOICE FOR OUR CHEER.
I TOLD MRS TAN ABOUT IT AND SHE ANOTHER WEB PAGE DESIGNER AND I HOW TO RECORD
VOICE AND DISPLAYED IT ON INTERNET. EVERYBODY LAUGHED A LOT WHEN I WAS RECORDING
HUI YING'S VOICE. IT WAS VERY FUNNY AND INTERESTING. AFTER ALL THOSE THINGS
HAD HAPPENED, MRS TAN TOLD US TO WRITE OUR " JOURNAL" FOR TODAY. SO
THIS IS ALL THE THINGS THAT HAD HAPPENED.

TODAY WE STARTED ON OUR MISSION 1 . THERE WAS SOMETHING
WRONG WITH OUR PROGRAMMING AND SHAM HAD SOME PROBLEMS WITH THE CONSTRUCTING
TOO. MY FRIEND, CHANDINI, WAS LATE AND MRS TAN SAID THAT SHE NEEDED A LOT OF
SLEEP FOR A VERY BEAUTIFUL MORNING FOR HER TEACHER'S DAY AUDITION. MRS TAN ALSO
ASKED HER WHETHER SHE WANTED TO CONTINUE TO JOIN SCIENCE CLUB. SHE AGREED TO
STAY ON BECAUSE SHE WANTED TO JOIN THE NJRC COMPETITION.
I HAVE DONE MY WEB PAGES DESIGN AND ONLY LEFT WITH ABOUT
5 MORE PAGES TO GO. MRS TAN TOLD US TO WRITE OUR JOURNAL AT HOME.

TODAY I CAME TO SCHOOL VERY EARLY IN ORDER TO BE THE
FIRST BUT NOT TO BE THE LATE AGAIN. THEN I MET MY FRIENDS , HUI YING AND CHANDINI.
WE CAME TO SCHOOL TO CONTINUE OUR MISSION 1 WHICH WE HAD DONE ON 3 AUGUST 2002
. wHILE SHAM HAD PROGRAMMER WENT TO A CORNER , AND TYPED HER JOURNAL. MRS TAN
SAID THAT WE ARENOT HELPING SHAM SO I WENT OVER TO HIM AND ASKED HIM FOR SOME
TASKS TO DO. HE SAID THAT I CAN HELP IN THE PROGRAMMING.
HIS CONSTRUCTING IS A VERY INTERESTING JOB!

THAT THIS WILL HAPPEN ONLY DURING THIS MONTH .
WHEN I CAME TO SCHOOL I SAW MY TEAMMATES , HUI YING AND CHANDINI.
MY ANOTHER TEAMMATE , SHAM IS ALWAYS LATE.
MR CHANG DID NOT COME TODAY SO WE HAD TO DO EVERTHING BY OURSELVES . FOR ME,

I THINK MY TEAM IS VERY USELESS BECAUSE WE CAN'T EVEN ACCOMPLISH MISSION 1 .

TO FINISH UP THEIR WORK .CHANDINI CAN'T MAKE IT ,SHE ONLY CAN STAY UNTIL 1.00P.M.
I CANNOT FINISH MY WORK BECAUSE I CAN'T FIND THE REST OF MY TEAM'S JOURNAL.

Date: 20/7/02 Saturday
Today I woke up early in the morning as I have NJRC Preparation. When I got
there, I saw Elaine and Chandini. We waited for some of our friends and we went
to the Galaxy Lab. Mrs Tan was already in the lab. I am in a group with Elaine,
Chandini and Sham. Mrs Tan told every one of us to create a team motto, team
cheer, team song and a team mascot design.

22/7/2002 Monday
Today I woke up early in the morning as I had NJRC Preparation to do AGAIN!!
Mr Chang, our trainer, taught us how to use Dream weaver. It is not very difficult
to use and understand. Mr Chang is a helpful trainer. We went home at 11:30
a.m. Today, I learnt a lot about Dream weaver.

Date: 27/7/02 SATURDAY
Today is a Saturday. I have NJRC Preparation to do. I waited for some of my
friends and we went to the Galaxy Lab to start our lessons. Mr Chang is already
in the lab, so is Mrs Tan. Finally, we started the Dream Weaver lesson. ( again!)
It was fun and I simply enjoyed it!

Date: 29/7/02 Monday
Today I woke up at 7 pm as I have NJRC Preparation to attend and it's my form
teacher, Mrs Tan, who told us to come at 8pm and meet at the lab or at the front
gate. I saw Chandini and Elaine. Sometimes, Chandini is late as her bus arrives
late at the bus-top. We saw Mrs Tan and some of the boys who joined Robotics.
We went to the Galaxy lab again! I wonder why we never go to the IT Resource
Room. I think at the Galaxy lab, there are computers and printers for us to
use. We type our journals as some of us had finished our work. We went to have
our lunch and we went back to school.

Date: 3/8/02 Saturday
I woke up at 7am this morning as...... It is the same
reason. Sometimes, I felt very tired and I kept yawning during the lessonn and
I cannot concentrate what Mr Chang is saying. I tried hard to but I cannot.
That is why sometimes I do not know what to do and I sometimes asked Mr Chang
or Mrs Tan. Mr Chang taught us how to create a web page and other stuff that
includes Dream Weaver and surfing the Internet.it was interesting and fun !
We went home at 12.30p.m.

Date: 5/8/02 Monday
I woke up bright and shine again! I waited for Elaine
and Chandini and we went to the Galaxy lab where we always have our lessons.
Sham is the constructor, Elaine is the web page designer, Chandini is the journalist
and I am the programmer. I am learning to do the programming as I do not know
much about. Sometimes, our robot could not track the black line but we did not
give up halfway and we are trying to figure out why. After finishing our work,
we went to have lunch and we went back to school.

I have NJRC Preparation again! We start our Mission 1
as soon as we reached the lab. Suddenly, I heard our robot making a breaking
sound and I turned around. Our robot is lying on the floor ,smashedto pieces
! ( Luckily the rcx is not spoiled ) Sham blamed me for breaking his robot and
he called me an idiot! it's not my fault, actually. Sham put the robot too near
the edge of the table and caused the robot to slid down . Today is a really
angry day for me!!!

Date: 12/8/02 Monday
Today I woke up at 6.45am, but I slept until 7.15am. I
thought I was late, so I ran all the way to school. Lukily, Mrs Tan was not
at school yet. I heaved a sigh of relief. Phew! My watch says 7.53am. About
5 minutes later, Mrs Tan came out and we went to the Galaxy lab. She also asked
some of us to take things from the staff room and the science room. After that,
we went to complete our Mission 1. I stared typing my journal for today after
doing the progamming and checking it. We went to have lunch and then to school.

Date: 17/8/02 SATURDAY
Today I have NJRC Preparation again! Mrs Tan went to Keming
Primary School for Primary 6 Oral( that's what Elaine said), so Miss Loh was
in charge . Sometime , Miss Loh have to go to her class and left us in the Galaxy
Lab . Some of the boys were noisy . At about 12p.m. Mrs Tan came back. She bought
french fries and burgers for us to eat . After completing our work we went home.

I WOKE UP AT 7:45 THINKING THAT MY NJRC PREPERATION WILL ONLY START AT 8:30.
ONLY AFTER MY TEACHER CALLED ME I REALISED THAT I WAS VERY LATE.I QUICKLY RUSHED
TO SCHOOL.BY THE TIME I REACHED SCHOOL THE CLASS STARTED. OUR TRAINER WAS MR
CHANG.HE THOUGHT US HOW TO CREATE A WEBPAGE AND OTHER STUFF. I HAD A FEW DIFFICULTIES
BUT I COULD DO IT.I DID THREE PAGES AND WERE ALL SUCCESFUL.

TIRED OF COMPUTER WORK AND WONDERED WHEN I COULD START CONSTRUCTING MY ROBOT
AGAIN.I WAS CHOOSEN AS CONSTRUCTOR AND WAS HAPPY ABOUT THAT.TODAY I LEARNED
THE BASICS OF CREATING A WEBPAGE BUT LUCKELY I AM NOT THE WEBMASTER OF MY GROUP.
AT THE END OF THE LESSON WE SAW THE PREVIOUS YEAR'S GROUP'S WEBPAGE IT WAS NICE
AND COLOURFUL AND I LIKED IT VERY MUCH.

TODAY WAS A FUN DAY AS I GOT TO MAKE A ROBOT. I DID
NOT HAVE TO DO ANY COMPUTER WORK. MY RCX WAS FAULTY SO IT COULD NOT TRACK THE
LINE. TRYING TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM, I GOT CARRIED AWAY AND IT WAS THE END OF
THE LESSON. I HAD TO STOP.

TODAY I CHANGE THE RCX BUT STILL I COULD NOT FINISH
THE MISSION. SO I INSTALLEDBIG GRIPPERS ON MY ROBOT AND I WANTED IT TO GO THROUGH
THE OIL SPILL BUT MRS TAN, MY TEACHER, WAS NOT TOO HAPPY ABOUT THAT IDEA. I
DID NOT CARRY OUT MY IDEA.

I EXPERIENCED THE SAME PROBLEM AGAIN. I DECIDED TO TRY
A NEW WAY. I BLOCKED THE LIGHT AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE FROM THE LIGHT SENSOR, THINKING
THAT IT WILL WORK. THE PLAN BACKFIRED. HOWEVER, I DID NOT GIVE UP, AND I KEPT
ON TRYING TILL THE END. A NEW DAY, A NEW PLAN TO PUT INTO ACTION TO SOLVE MY
PROBLEM.

I ENTERED THE CLASS WITH A HOPE THAT I COULD WORK MY
ROBOT. WHEN I WAS TALKING TO A FRIEND, THE LEADER OF THE GROUP ACCIDENTALLY
DROPPED THE ROBOT. ALTHOUGH I UNDERSTAND THAT IT WAS AN ACCIDENT, I WAS STILL
MAD. IN FACT, THIS WAS THE SECOND TIME! HOW CLUMSY A PERSON CAN BE? I THOUGHT
AS I PICKED UP THE PIECES. I TRIED TO FIX THE ROBOT AND I FINALLY DID.

THE MOST EXCITING DAY WAS HERE. IT WAS A DAY TO TRY
OUT MY ROBOT AGAIN. MY 'CREATION' WAS TO COLLECT THREE BARRELS AND TOUCH THE
SHIP. MY ROBOT ACCOMPLISHEDTHE TASKS! I WAS PROUD OF HIM! I OWN THIS SUCCESS
NOT NLY TO MY TEACHERS, MY GROUP MEMBERS AND MY FRIEND ,JING WEN AND ME! MY
HARDWORK PAID OFF.

WELL, I HAVE COMPLETE MY MISSION WITH 150 POINTS . NEVERTHLESS
I TRIED TO PROGRAMME THE ROBOT TO USE ROTATIONAL SENSOR BUT IT WAS UNSUCCESSFULL.
I WILL KEEP ON TRYING AND TODAY I COULD NOT SOUGHT MY FRIEND'S ADIVCE AS HE
WAS BUSY COMPLETING HIS JOURNAL. I HOPE TO HAVE BETTER LUCK NEXT TIME.

Date: 20/7/2002 SATURDAY
Today, I woke up in the morning and got ready to go to school. I had to go for
NJRC Preparation. So, I got ready and walked to the bus stop to catch the bus.
When I was walking near it, the bus came so I dashed across the two main roads.
I was almost knocked down by a car. I was about to miss the bus when the driver
saw me and stopped. I was relieved. When I reached school, my friend, Hui Ying
was waiting for me. I told her that I was sorry as I was suppose to meet her
at 7:45am but I only came at 7:50am. She wasn't angry, as she is an understanding
friend. Then we waited a little while longer for the teacher to come. Soon after,
we went to the galaxy lab. There was a person there. His name was Mr Chang.
The thing about him that caught my attraction was he had a red scalp!!!! I was
terrified and told my friends, Hui Ying and Elaine about it and they concluded
that he was an Alien. I told them not to be too ridiculous. Then, my computer
was hanged! The person came and tried to do something but it wasn't successful.
So, he asked me to share with my friend, Elaine. I moved my chair over and shared
with her. She had some problems so I helped her. Then, we went home.

Date: 22/7/2002 MONDAY
Today, I had to go to school for NJRC preparation. I had school after that.
So it was very tiring. We went to the galaxy lab again. We, the primary5s' were
to type journals about our experiences. We did not type the previous week so
we had to type two of them. It was very tiring and very cold too. Just to type
the journals we went to school.
Towards the end our teacher, Mrs Tan, scolded my group. We got scolded, as we
did not print out the picture and articles we saved. After that, we went home.

Today is a Saturday. We have to go to school again. It's for the same reason:
NJRC Preparation. We have to type a lot of Journals. Its quite tiring but I
enjoy it. The typing is what I like. Just my luck I'm the Journalist. We have
to go to school again on Monday. Mr Chang was here again. We learnt a lot of
things about web page designing and a lot more. After that we went home

VERY CONFUSED UNTIL I LEARNED MORE ABOUT HOW TO DO IT.SO, WE STARTED TO WORK
ON OUR BOOK OF JOURNAL. WE HAD A TOUGH TIME WALKING HERE AND THERE TO ASK OUR
FRIENDS TO MAKE SURE WHAT WE NEEDED TO DO.WE HAD TO DRAW AND COLOUR OUR MASCOTS.THEN,
WE HAD TO DESIGN OUR FRONT COVER AND MANY OTHERS TO DO.LATER,WE WENT TO SCHOOL
AFTER LOCKING THE DOOR AND CLEANING UP THE PLACE.

I COULD NOT STAYWITH MY FRIENDS AND FINISH UP THE WORK.AT FIRST I THOUGHT THAT
I COULD STAY AS I FORGOT ABOUT MY TOTION.THEN WHEN MY WATCH'S ALARM WENT OFF,I
REMEMBERED.THEN MY TEACHER ,MRS TAN CAME. I TOLD HER THAT I HAD TO GO.MY MOTHER
TONGUE TEACHER WAS WAITING FOR ME TO GO SOME PLACE.SO I HAD TO SKIP TUTION TOO.IF
ONLY I HAD STAYED I COULD HAVE FINISHED UP MY WORK. WE DID THE PROGRAMMING.
I PASTED THE JOURNAL OF MY TEAMMATES ON THEIR SEPARATE PIECES OF PAPER. SHAM'S
JOURNAL WERE TOO BIG TO PASTE ON THE A4 SIZE PAPER, SO I FOLDED THEM . AS A
RESULT, IT FITTED! I WAS VERY HAPPY.
